Euroventures as a partner
Euroventures adds value to its portfolio companies through a partnership with management built on integrity, honesty and teamwork. The management teams of our successful investee companies maintain full responsibility for the execution of their business plan. We do not interfere in day-to-day operations or constrain management’s creativity and flexibility. In certain industries we gained enough experience to take responsibility for controlling positions, but the partnership with incumbent management is at the heart of our investment strategy in these situations as well.
The Euroventures team and our wider network is available to offer advice, provide guidance and make useful introductions to support our investees’ business development. We take a long-term view and are patient in achieving goals. However, we monitor performance carefully and hold management accountable through our active role on the board of directors, which is aimed at instilling an effective, efficient and transparent corporate governance process.
Our board role is typically focused on assisting management with respect to:
- strategy: focusing on key value drivers, exploiting competitive advantages and benchmarking against competitors
- human resources development: identifying key personnel needs and individuals to fill them, including from our network of prior working relationships
- financial and transactional support: management/financial reporting, evaluating joint venture and M&A opportunities as well as preparing for an eventual exit
- exit preparation: support portfolio companies in preparing an for exit, identifying exit targets, and leverage the experience we obtained during the successful stock exchange listings and trade sales involving the Euroventures portfolio companies in the past 22 years.
